Redwood Succession is an entity created to acquire and operate one business in California
Me during my unit's redeployment from the Middle East ceremony
Thanks for taking time to learn more about me. I have a passion for
leading and have had the opportunity to gain leadership experience in a number of fields and disciplines. My dream now is to own and operate one company for the rest of my life.
I grew up and attended high school in Redwood City, California where I started my first company, Sellin' It!, a consignment service company at the age of 15. I moved to the east coast for college where I attended Loyola University of Maryland on an Army scholarship. There I studied Business and did Army ROTC before commissioning as a Field Artillery Officer.
During my time in the Army I lived in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and deployed to the Middle East. I served as both a headquarters and HIMARS platoon leader, which meant I was responsible for 30+ soldiers at a time as we trained to be able to deploy anywhere in the world within 96 hours. Later I was selected to deploy as my unit's liaison to a 2 star General headquarters as
well as be the Army's lead representative to the Kuwaiti Artillery forces. At the time I was told I was the youngest person ever to serve in either of these roles.
I am proud of my leadership experience in the Army and grateful for the humility, perspective and hard work that it taught me. When I received the Meritorious Service Medal at the end of my deployment for “exceptional service and leadership”, it was the highlight of my military career.
During my last year in the Army I started Life Skills for Soldiers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to improve service members lives through life skills education. Through this organization I have led a team of 25+ and raised over $150,000 including donations from great companies such as Nike and Google. As an organization we have empowered military leaders to teach their troops vital personal finance skills. This is a passion project that I proudly stay involved with to this day.
Most recently, I completed my MBA where I focused on Entrepreneurship and Finance to further explore my passion for entrepreneurship as well as build skills in accounting and finance.
